Are Garden Rooms Warm in Winter?

You may be wondering if a garden room will be warm enough to use through the winter months. Put simply, the answer is yes! Our garden rooms are built to be used year-round with the ability for you to keep the space at a comfortable temperature.

Our Build Technique
Although our garden rooms are bespoke, they are all built using the same method. We insulate the floors, walls and ceiling of our buildings to a high level. The majority of our structures are built on screw pile foundations in order to stop the building from making contact with the ground. This eliminates the risk of damp coming through the floor and into the room. Whether you choose uPVC or aluminium doors and windows, the glass will always be double-glazed.

Heating Your Garden Room
You will want to treat your garden room the same as you would your house when it comes to heating it. In all of our projects, we include a slimline panel radiator which can be controlled from your phone. This Wi-fi option is fantastic because you can set the timer on the radiator whilst on the go. If you’re going to be working from 8am, you may want to turn it on from 6.30am so you start the winter morning feeling toasty! Alternatively, if the temperature of the room drops too low, you can set the radiator to automatically come on.

Upgrades to the radiator are available if budget allows. We have seen an increasing demand for air conditioning units which have a heat setting. You may also want to consider underfloor heating if you’re using the structure as an annex.

Benefit in the Summer too!
Our building methods will also keep your garden room cool through the summer months. The insulation will allow the structure to regulate the temperature throughout the year. Think of the room as an extension of your home!

Our customers continue to use their garden rooms year-round, which is testament to how well built they are for winter! If you’re looking at a place to work, check out our Garden Work Gallery. And if you want a room to retreat too, take inspiration from our Leisure Gallery.
