If music is your passion, whether you’re into production or are a musician yourself, a studio dedicated to your artform is a must have. Designing and creating your own private music studio at home, as part of your hobby or career, gives you the freedom to enjoy and practise your craft in your own dedicated space. Moving that dedicated space into the garden, having it separate from your home, brings added benefits as you can implement soundproofing, hone your craft in private with no disturbances, and all the while enjoying a beautifully designed space to inspire and encourage your talents.
If you have a career in music and are looking to work from home, a garden music studio may be the best option for you. This blog goes into some of the many ways which our studios can be used.
Garden rooms are incredibly versatile as we design and build from scratch. At Miniature Manors, each and every one of our builds are completely unique. We design to brief, meeting our clients needs and expectations. Our rooms are as individual as the people who they’re designed for. When it comes to our music studios, we have a wide eclectic range of music rooms, recording studios, broadcast rooms and offices. Each build has been tailored and designed to meet the expectations of the artists, musicians, producers, content creators and composers that we work for.
Our talented and experienced designers understand the science of soundproofing. The main goal for all our music studios is making sure that the construction considers enhancing and containing sound within the creative space.

How your music studio is used completely depends on you. You can combine different purposes if your skillset crosses different areas in the business, using your studio for recording, producing and broadcasting. We’ve put together a list of our main uses.

Transform a garden room into your own production suite. If you need a quiet, contained hub away from the noise and distractions of daily life, a garden music studio can be your isolated island for creativity to thrive. Personalise your studio with your favourite memorabilia. Fully equip yourself with cutting edge production technology and sound-boards so you can produce music and content from your home.
Our crew of carpenters can construct custom furniture for your needs. Smart storage systems for your records and musical instruments. Desks and counters for your production equipment and computer. All your equipment can be given a home for its pride of place. We’ll also factor in full soundproofing and double-glazing to keep excess sound bleeding out the space.

Having a peaceful, private space for your love of music to bloom is what every musician should have. We can retrofit your garden room into a music room where you can keep your musical instruments and practice to your heart’s content without worrying about being overheard. If your kids are starting to learn, having a soundproofed space for them to improve their skills will do wonders as their talents start to shine. Whether learning to play the drums, the trumpet or the violin, it doesn’t matter how much noise they make.
If your profession is one as a musician, you can use the space to keep your skills sharp. Being able to practise without bothering anyone in the house can really help you enjoy what you love – whether it’s a hobby or a career.

If you wish to record vocals in your studio from your studio, we can section off part of the room into a recording booth. At the design stage, we can add extra features to your garden studio to meet all your requirements. We’ll ensure that you have the space and the facilities to set up your professional recording equipment, adding ample soundproofing so the audio quality is the best it can be.
We can set up your studio for collaborative projects, providing enough space for multiple performers and band members to come together. We can even add restroom facilities if you wish to make your studio more of a self-sufficient building on your property.

Since the lockdown during the Covid pandemic, more and more music instructors have embraced online lessons and teaching their students via video call. Working from home in this way has brought music into many more lives and a garden room can be the perfect base for teachers to carry out their lessons from the comfort of their home. We can help get you set up by combining uses of a music practice room and an office where you can carry out your lesson plans and admin work.
We keep you involved in the design process from the start so you have full control over the feel you want your studio to have. We can arrange for plenty of seating if you wish to carry out lessons in person and plenty of space too. From teaching the piccolo to the piano, you’ll have a dedicated space to bring out the talent from your students.

Your studio doesn’t have to be limited to music only. If you’re a content creator on any platform, a garden studio can be the ideal environment for you to record, edit and post podcasts and content from your home. We can also set up your workspace for live streaming if you are a content creator on platforms such as Youtube or Twitch.
The setup and interior design of the room you broadcast ends up being just as much a part of your brand as your content if you’re producing video. We can work with you on your interior design, setting up storage for your collectables that are visible on screen, merchandise that you like to promote and professional lighting to give the best feel for your quality content.
Because all our builds are built completely bespoke to our clients’ individual needs, we quote on an individual basis. Our online project planner lets you hash out your initial ideas, giving us details such as the space you have available, what uses you intend for the studio, whether you wish to include a bathroom or any other extras that will factor in planning permission. Once you’ve filled out the requirements and sent them to us, we’ll be in touch within 48 hours with an estimate for the cost and ideas of timescales. If you’re happy with what we give you, we then arrange a site visit and we’ll get to work on designing your studio.
