A garden annexe or granny annexe is a fantastic investment if you need additional living space, but do not wish to move house. Our builds are also a less disruptive way of creating room compared to having an extension where you cannot avoid having tradesmen in your house! This 6.5 metre by 4 metre garden room was an alternative and more cost-effective option to an extension for our customer. This annex has given them extra guest space and a dynamic family area in the garden.
The studio consists of an open plan living room with a kitchenette, shower room and separate bedroom. The kitchenette is simple with just a sink and an all important wine fridge. There are enough cupboards for storage, along with helpful work tops. We are often asked to fit entire kitchens, but sometimes an annexe only needs a basic kitchen area if it is for occasional use.
As with all of our garden room builds, this project included everything from the groundworks through to the plumbing and electrics. If you are looking to use a garden room as accommodation, you will need to seek planning permission and meet building regulations.
