Creating a garden room within the curtilage of a listed building requires careful consideration of its surroundings. For this project, we secured planning permission for a bespoke art studio and home office, combining contemporary design with a modern barn aesthetic that complements the surrounding buildings. With running water and insulation to meet Building Regulations, the finished studio achieved Building Control sign-off, creating a comfortable, year-round space for both clients to work and get creative.
Striking black corrugated metal cladding gives this garden studio its distinctive appearance, offering a contemporary twist on traditional agricultural buildings. A GluLam beam running through the structure allowed us to create a fully vaulted ceiling, making room for a mezzanine above the WC and art studio.
Aluminium doors and windows, a professionally plastered interior and oak internal doors complete this beautifully considered space. Hardwearing LVT flooring makes cleaning up after creative projects easy, while the low-maintenance corrugated metal cladding ensures the exterior will continue looking fantastic for years to come.
