Our customer approached us for a design that matches the black barns located on the farmland around her home in rural West Sussex. In order to build the garden room under permitted development rules, we avoided a barn-like pitched roof and decided that the colours in our design would be a great way to capture the look she wanted to achieve. We chose to clad the structure in feather-edge timber boards, which had been stained in black by our supplier. The black walls are offset by the white uPVC windows, soffits and fascias exactly as they are on the local barns.
We included two sets of windows that offer views across the garden, and a skylight in order to maximise the amount of natural light that enters the structure. This has given the room a generous amount of light for painting. Garden Rooms make for excellent art studios. They are a self-contained space to let your creative juices flow and to store materials away from your house.
“First class from start to finish – the design process was excellent, the price compared extremely favourably with top national companies, and the build went really well. The lads were great to have on site, very courteous and they left everything immaculate. It has surpassed my expectations. Thanks so much, Rich and team, you’ve made me very happy!”
