About this design

With the increasing popularity of holiday let websites such as Airbnb, its never been easier to run your own holiday rental business with a garden room. This spacious structure was built by the Miniature Manors team for a customer in Folkestone who will rent the space to couples looking for a break in the Kent countryside. 

The 5.2 metre by 5.2 metre space has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is complete with an oven, hob and fridge, whilst the bathroom includes a toilet, shower and sink. In order to make the most of the structure, our team added a side storage section which is a practical feature for storing items that are used for the up keep of the building. 

If you are looking to use a garden room as accommodation, you will need to seek planning permission from your local council. This is something that our team can assist you with. You will also need to find out if you are able to connect to the main drains in your areas, so an S106 form will need to be completed for your local water supplier.

Granny annexe style garden rooms are a fantastic investment if you wish to have an additional income. Aside from the tourist industry, similar structures could be used to house elderly relatives, children who want an independent style of living or as a space for guests.
