Our customer approached us for a design that matches the black barns located on the farmland around her in rural West Sussex. In order to build the garden room under permitted development rules, we avoided a barn-like pitched roof and decided that the colours in our design would be a great way to capture the look she wanted to achieve. We chose to clad the structure in feather-edge timber boards, which had been stained in black by our supplier. The black walls are offset by the white uPVC windows, soffits and fascias exactly as they are on the local barns.
We included two sets of windows that offer views across the garden, and a skylight in order to maximise the amount of natural light that enters the structure. This has given the room a generous amount of light for painting. Our customer is delighted with her idyllic looking structure: "First class from start to finish - the design process was excellent, the price compared extremely favourably with top national companies, and the build went really well."
