Nestled into an idyllic wooded garden sits this stunning pitched roof garden room. Our clients were looking for a space for fun & relaxation away from their main house. They wanted a large open room for hosting parties, with an entrance that would connect the room to the garden seamlessly. We designed this gorgeous pitched roof studio with big features that would match the big sound system! The structure includes a set of 5 metre bi-folding doors, which connects the room to the garden beautifully when open. Walk inside, and a sense of space is created by a vaulted ceiling and high angled windows.
As our clients live in a Grade II listed property, planning permission was required for this garden room. This is a process that our architectural design team took over for our client, and after the submission of a heritage statement, permission was granted from the local planning office. In order to create a garden room that was in keeping with the main home, we opted for a pitched roof with slate tiles. As the room would have the potential to be noisy, we added a layer of acoustic plasterboard and acoustic insulation. The doors include acoustic glass, offering extra protection against escaping sound. Upgrades like this are something that can be offered across all of our garden room builds.
We were really impressed with Richard and the team from the start to finish, of what was a large build (4 x 7 m), on a very difficult plot, with limited access, in the wettest winter ever! Richard handled the planning permission necessary for our Grade I listed house very adeptly. Many of the bespoke aspects of the build were simply not offered by Richard’s competitors and they were also able to get the project underway much faster than their competitors – both reasons we engaged Miniature Manors! The design and building team were very adaptable to our slightly unusual needs for power, soundproofing and weight distribution in the space. As with other reviews, we are very pleased with the soundproofing. The team were always lovely and helpful, even in the challenges of deepest midwinter. We are delighted with the bespoke end product – we just need a summer to open the bifolds now! - Mr Bird, East Grinstead, West Sussex
